报告简介：Technical writing in English is perceived to be difficult especially by non-English speakers. However, the difficult parts are the research behind the article and the structure and organization of the article rather than the language. Technical articles supported by solid research can always be published. Motivations for research and technical writing are discussed. The structure and organization of a technical article are emphasized. The major sections in a technical paper are outlined. Cautions and caveats are mentioned. Some techniques in word processing are also presented.
报告人简介：孙明和，美国德克萨斯大学圣安东尼奥分校终身教授，佐治亚大学管理科学与信息技术学博士。他的学术论文具有跨学科多角度研究的特点，研究领域包括：多目标规划、网络优化、组合优化，特别是启发式求解、数学规划方法用于回归、判别与聚类分析、大数据分析等。在Management Science, Operations Research, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Transportation Science, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research等国际顶级期刊上发表50余篇与管理科学与信息技术领域有关的学术论文，并多次获项。
